Let's talk cats
Cats are phenomenal self groomers. Though sometimes they need a little help with maintaining a beautiful coat. With proper maintenance most cats can be kept looking and feeling their best with regular nail trims and brush outs. It is important to cater to your cats specific needs. Cats that have severe matting will require shaving. Cats that have been exposed to harmful substances or urine saturation will need bathing. As experienced cat groomers we do not recommend bathing or shaving cats if it's not necessary and they do not meet the above criteria. Therefore we do not shave cats to make a fashion statement or for shedding purposes. We do not bathe cats unless absolutely necessary, as bathing cats can be detrimental on their health due to severe distress.
Cats become highly stressed when they are away from home or experience change. Cats can develop Non-recognition aggression, or "stranger aggression," This is a type of aggression that occurs when a cat, usually after a period of separation from other cats in the household (like a grooming visit), is suddenly aggressive towards a familiar cat in the household. This is due to changes in scent that confuse the cats and make them perceive each other as strangers. Cats rely heavily on scent for recognition. When a cat returns from a place like a groomer, it may smell different due to shampoos or other unfamiliar scents. This condition results in cat fights and your cats will have to be reintroduced to each other, this can take days or weeks, depending on how quickly your cats scent returns. NRA is a scary and frustrating condition that can also result in lack of eating due to stress, out of the litter box urination, along with other negative effects.
Keeping their grooming at a minimal is in their best interest and well-being.

We offer thorough brush outs, ensuring no matting. Starting at $35.00
Necessary baths start at $80 for short haired and up to $110.00 for long haired.
Necessary shaves start at $100.00 for short haired and up to $110.00 for long haired.
Prices do not include matting fees.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q:How long will it take to groom your dog?

A:Grooming times depend on a variety of factors, including coat condition, desired style, and behavior of animal. Please allow 2 to 3 hours and up to 5 hours.

Q:Will shaving a double coated dog ruin their coat?

A:Yes, shaving a double coated dog puts them at risk of developing shave shock. This is a condition in which the coat grows back sparse and with a coarse, cotton like texture or may not grow back at all.

Q:Can we brush out a severe matting?

A:NO. Severe matting is beyond brushing out. It is incredibly painful and inhumane to de matt a coat that is matted solid.

Q:What are the dangers of severe matting?

A:Matting is not just a cosmetic issue. Severe matting leads to blood flow constriction, hematomas and death of skin tissue and hair follicles.

Q:Why do we require a valid credit card on file?

A:Credit cards on file are to be charged in the event you do not give a 24 hour cancellation notice. This charge is merited because you are booking a time of service.

Q:Do we accept females in heat or pregnant?

A: NO

Q:Do we offer hypoallergenic shampoo?

A:Yes

Q:Can you leave your animal at our salon all day?

A:While we strive to accommodate our clients, we ask that you kindly pick up your animal promptly after service is finished.

Q:Do we allow dogs to run free and interact with other dogs in the salon?

A:NO. Keeping your dogs safe is high priority. By kenneling your dog, we can ensure no fights between other dogs in the salon and reduce risk of exposure to unknown illnesses.

Q:Do we take your animal out to potty, or give your animals water, treats or medications?

A:Treats brought in by clients may be given. However we do not provide treats due to possible allergies. Water is offered to dogs that are in need. Potty breaks are given to animals that are in our care for long periods of time. We do not administer any medications.

Q: What are the laws of dog grooming?

A: Understanding grooming costs.

Dog grooming costs more than a human haircut for a variety of reasons.
The Animal vs The Human
• Behavior:
Handling a live, potentially uncooperative animal, which may not sit still for extended periods and may bite, scratch, pee, poop, or try to escape during the grooming process.
• Basic Health Services:
A groomer provides a full-body service that includes bathing, drying, anal gland expression, brushing, de-matting, nail trims, ear cleaning, and cutting the dog's entire coat.
• Specialized Training:
Dog groomers are skilled professionals who are trained in animal behavior and safety protocols, requiring specialized education and ongoing advancement of their skills.
• Increased Time:
The entire process is time-consuming and requires patience.
• Health Checks:
Groomers also provide a basic health check for the dog, looking for issues during the grooming process.
• Hygiene Standards:
Groomers must maintain high standards of cleanliness and disinfection to prevent the spread of disease between animals.
• Specialized Equipment:
They use high-quality tools and products, from shampoos and dryers to grooming tables and enclosures, to provide a safe and comfortable experience for the dog.
